As you already know, I love everything about this. I love our times together at the door. I love sharing the stage with you at Schoolhouse Rock. I love listening to your stories. Right before I started coming to LBC I asked the universe to help me find my people because I felt really alone in the world. And the universe delivered me a miracle of a community ❤️
I just have one question for you: is there a reason the bathroom door was locked? 😏🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
LOLLLLLLLL this is for sure going down as my favorite question of all time. Thank you for the gift, Mr. Weird Question Stranger! And gigantic hugs to you, my Interjection buddy and co-greeter. (BTW this post was a waaaaay scaled-down version of a 3000-word monstrosity that I decided was too much for anyone to read this time of year. But someday. I know you could pen a similar novella in praise of our beloved LBC.)
I promise to not overuse that line, but I also think you and I need to start keeping a list of our favorite moments because there sure are some doozies ahahahaha
And someday, yes, I'll write about how LBC not only helped me find my people, but also myself. 😘
This gives me All The Feels. We're thinking about moving to Portland--coming to visit in early January and I was SO EXCITED to see LBC will be happening while we're there! I've been wanting to experience this since the first time I read something you wrote about it many years ago.
WENDI!!! That's fantastic news! Delighted you'll be able to make it to Low Bar & we can absolutely gab about the joys of Portland. Holler if you have any questions!
This is so great! Are any of your story tellings on YT? What a beautiful group to be a part of! I wish I had something like it near me. I’m a homeschooler and long-time listener of the Brave Writer podcast, and have enjoyed recently reading you here as well. The format of the BW show since you joined makes it my #1 listen!
Plus today, hearing this *particular* song was so meaningful for me. Thank you for sharing! “God Only Knows” was my mom and dad’s song, he died almost 27 years ago, and I recently wrote a pretty raw story about him on my Substack (part of a memoir in progress) that has stirred up some family *tenderness,* shall we say. I have held back writing my story for years because of that muddy water, but feel guided to keep moving forward. That is not a common song to just stumble upon, so I wanted to share how your post about LBC impacted me in such an unexpected way on Christmas day when I will be seeing family. 💜
